Awards Ceremony and Fish Fry @ Treasure Trove begin immediately after scales close.

REGISTRATION PER TEAM: FREE (tee shirts and random goodies are provided @ weigh in) Additional shirts may be purchased separately.  Goslings Rum Swizzles and Dark & Stormy’s included.  A special Drift Boat Entry is available for anglers fishing on drift boats: weigh your fish and get a t-shirt, an entry allowing you to compete for the Largest Fish in all eligible species and/or Junior and Ladies Divisions, and free food and drinks at the post weigh-in cookout.

ALL TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS GO TO CHARITY

REGISTRATION AND FEES - Entry fee is FREE.  There will be information on optional Calcutta ’s Captain’s Meeting.  If you intend to enter a Calcutta , bring cash.  Each boat is allowed as many anglers as they choose. Each registered boat is eligible for all general prizes.

TYPE OF TOURNAMENT - This is a Boat/Team Tournament.  All fish must be entered for official weigh-in in the presence of a boat/team representative.  All fish weighed become the property of the tournament and will be used for the Awards Ceremony Fish Fry Extravaganza.

ANGLING RULES - There are no IGFA or any other angling rules applied.  Catch your fish using any means possible, other than electric reels, and bring them to the weigh in. Spearfishing is allowed.  For a Junior or Lady Angler to be eligible for a prize they must fight the fish for the majority of the fight.

FISHING LICENSE - All participating anglers must possess a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing License. 

CAPTAIN'S MEETING - There will be a Captain's Meeting on July 17, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Treasure Trove, in Fort Lauderdale .  At least one representative from each boat/team should be present. All anglers are encouraged to attend. The rules of this tournament may be amended verbally or in writing at the time of the meeting. Anglers are responsible for being well informed of all rules.

ELIGIBLE SPECIES - There are nine species eligible for the weigh in: dolphin (mahi-mahi), wahoo, tuna, swordfish, kingfish, tripletail, snapper, grouper and cobia. All fish presented for weigh-in must be in fresh, edible condition and caught during tournament hours. All fish must meet the minimum required legal length. There is no minimum weight.  If it's legal, we will accept it. All participating anglers are urged to release those fish not to be entered into the tournament. The release of fish should be in keeping with the best conservation methods to ensure continued life.

SCORING OVERALL TOURNAMENT - Only three fish per boat may be entered. They may be in any configuration (i.e. 2 dolphin & 1 tuna, 3 dolphin, 1 each of 3 different species etc.) Just weigh your three biggest eligible fish. Fish may be transported to the weigh in any manner (i.e. Boat, planes, trains, automobiles, etc.) The tournament winner will be the boat that has the highest combined weight of the three fish. Any weighed fish is also eligible for any of the prizes listed below.

LARGEST DOLPHIN, LARGEST WAHOO, LARGEST SNAPPER, LARGEST SWORDFISH, LARGEST KINGFISH, LARGEST GROUPER, LARGEST COBIA, LARGEST TRIPLETAIL & LARGEST TUNA

LADIES LARGEST FISH - The largest eligible fish weighed by female angler will win the largest ladies' fish prize. Please notify the committee at the time of weigh in that the fish was caught by a female angler. 

JUNIOR LARGEST FISH - The largest eligible fish weighed by a Junior Angler (Less than 16 years old on the day of the tournament) will win the largest junior fish prize. Please notify the committee at the time of weigh in that the fish was caught by a Junior Angler.

TOP CAPTAIN – The person registered as Captain of the vessel winning the Top Boat in the tournament will win the Top Captain prize

All entries must be weighed by a tournament scale at one of the official weigh-in locations in the presence of the boat/team entering them. Any fish may be examined by any means necessary..

TOURNAMENT HOURS - Lines in at 7:00 a.m. Lines out at 3:00 p.m. Use your GPS for the official time. Fish must be weighed in no later than 5:00 p.m. The weigh station will close at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

WEATHER CONDITIONS - In the event of unsafe weather conditions, the tournament committee may choose to postpone the tournament until a later date. Captains are ultimately responsible for their crew and should make the decision as to safe sea conditions.

BOUNDARIES - this is an open ocean tournament.

PROTESTS - Any protests concerning the conduct of an angler or rules violations must be filed in writing with the tournament committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the alleged violation. Do not put a sinker in your fish so it weighs more.  Flint will find it when he tries to fry it. Lead tends to sizzle. Anyone found to be cheating will be banned from the tournament and the Treasure Trove permanently. Anyone found guilty of murdering another participant in the tournament, in an attempt to gain a competitive advantage, will be banned from the tournament and the Treasure Trove for a period of one year.

AWARDS - Tournament winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will take place immediately after the tournament, at the Treasure Trove.

TIES - In the event of a tie in weight, the winner will be determined by the earliest weigh-in time.

REFUNDS - No refunds will be given.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY - It is expressly understood that all participants in the Internationally World Famous Fishing Tournament enter at their own risk and that the Internationally World Famous Fishing Tournament, the Treasure Trove, their officers and directors and all persons connected directly or indirectly with the operations of the tournament, or any sponsor of the tournament shall be exempt from any liability for slander, loss, damage, negligence, harm, injury or death suffered by any participant, entrant, sport-fisherman or their companions, boat captains, mates, crew members, guests, vessels and equipment which may occur during the tournament.

SIGNING OF THE ENTRY FORM - By signing the entry form, the angler agrees to follow the above tournament rules and that the tournament and/or it's sponsors may use without payment or restriction any photographs or video in which he or she appears for any purpose whatsoever but not limited to resale, advertising, commercial or promotional material. All anglers are required to sign their entry blank form as certification that they have read and agreed to abide by all rules and the above liability release.
